Amor y Canela is a cooking school transplant that has come all the way from Vermont, USA to establish a second
set of roots in the Yucatan, Mexico. The cooking school is located in the heart of un pueblo magico, Valladolid.
Owned and operated by Chefs Courtney Contos and Alfredo Acoy Cofino, Amor y Canela offers a variety of cooking classes
for those who love to cook (and eat!). Food & Wine magazine recognizes Chef Contos as one of the 16 best cooking schools in the world!
The owners boast a combined total of over 20 years experience in the cooking school business, and over 30 years in food service.
Classes range from simple sauces to intensive local cuisine menus. The cooking school also features and event space and many
surprise events such as brunches and pop up dinners.

This is a place that with one visit you will be smitten. Well, at least that is how I feel. The ancient culture of the Mayans and the Colonial beauty of the Spanish, mix together with the world tourists and a tropical climate to create a rich and amazing Mexican stew for the human soul. In the heart of it is Valladolid. Here is my mission: to help share it with the as many people as I can. Amor y Canela is a beautiful school nestled on a bountiful Yucatecan property filled with edible fruit trees. The town, the neighborhood, but most importantly, the smiling people help make a visit to Valladolid most memorable. We look forward to welcoming you.
